Catherine Britton has a strong musical personality that is perceptible straight away and understandable through her story; she left England for Austria with her Caribbean father and Austrian mother in 1975. Catherine, aka Cassy, spent her childhood in Vienna and Lower Austria where she started to study music and sing performing her first professional step into the world of electronic music as a vocalist for Elin's aka Autorepeat's "Music Takes Me Higher" on Sabotage Records. Electric Indigo was able to convince Cassy to not only involve herself as a singer but to learn how to mix records. After her first DJ gig in Vienna, Munich and further productions she met Dave the Hustler in Geneva where they started working on a collaborative project for Mental Groove. She then met Luciano and Mathew Jonson, working with both artists on collaborations.
After moving to Berlin in 2003 she worked with artists such as Ricardo Villalobos and Steve Bug and recently started her own label, called ‘Cassy’. She now regularly spins at the Panoramabar in Berlin and has also mixed a compilation for the club, proving for the umpteenth time that she has her own personal history that will last.
